Careslate does not require you to create an account. We do not collect, store, or associate any identifying information with your use of the app, including email addresses, phone numbers, usernames or passwords, provider or patient identifiers, location data, advertising identifiers, or analytics profiles.
Careslate does not collect, store, or analyze your data outside of real-time translation. Careslate does not create or maintain its own copies of PHI, transcripts, audio, text, recordings, conversation logs, translation history, or app-specific usage logs. All translation activity handled by Careslate is processed in real time and is not retained on Careslate servers.
If you choose to save a transcript, it is stored only on your device in local storage under your control. Nothing is stored on Careslate servers or in cloud services operated by Anescribe, LLC. You are responsible for the handling, storage, and deletion of any saved content on your device, including any PHI.
All translation is performed by automated systems. Careslate does not employ human translators to review or edit your content. Careslate may rely on third-party technology providers whose personnel may have limited, role-based access to data only as necessary to operate, maintain, secure, or improve the reliability of their services, or to comply with applicable law, and who are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
Any PHI processed during translation is transmitted only to third-party technology providers that agree by written contract to handle that PHI using safeguards designed to be consistent with HIPAA. For PHI processed through those services, Anescribe, LLC has executed Business Associate Agreements and enabled a Zero Data Retention configuration where available. Under these agreements, those providers are contractually prohibited from retaining PHI for longer than is necessary to provide the service, and from using PHI to train models, target advertising, sell data, or perform unrelated analytics. Their personnel may access PHI only as needed to provide, operate, maintain, protect, or secure the service and to meet legal or regulatory obligations.
Careslate is designed to support HIPAA compliance in clinical settings, including point-of-care use. Careslate does not store PHI and does not maintain PHI on behalf of any healthcare provider, health plan, or other covered entity. Careslate is not intended to function as a HIPAA Business Associate to covered entities or individual clinicians. Instead, Careslate operates as a user-controlled communication tool that temporarily processes PHI only as needed to perform real-time translation through contracted third-party technology providers.
Those third-party providers are required by contract to implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PHI, and to restrict their use and disclosure of PHI to what is permitted under the relevant agreements and applicable law. They may maintain limited technical or security logs as necessary to detect abuse, monitor system performance, or comply with legal obligations, but may not use PHI content for model training, targeted advertising, or unrelated analytics.
All purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Anescribe, LLC does not access or store your full payment card number, bank account number, or other underlying financial instrument data. Apple's terms and privacy practices govern your use of the In-App Purchase system.
Careslate incorporates safeguards intended to support HIPAA-aligned use, including encryption and minimal data retention, but no software system can guarantee perfect performance in all circumstances. Anescribe, LLC does not provide medical care, does not practice medicine, and does not replace professional interpreters where they are required. You are responsible for verifying translations and for all clinical decisions and communications made using the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Anescribe, LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from or related to the use or inability to use Careslate, including any errors or omissions in translation, any miscommunications, or any medical outcomes.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. When we do, we will change the Effective Date shown above. Your continued use of Careslate after an update becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated Agreement, you must discontinue use of Careslate.
